Concept
A personal story about grief
My Grandpa is a Garden is inspired by my personal experience of grief after losing my father. In the time that followed his death, caring for the garden where he was buried became a quiet way of staying connected to him.
The story aims to help young children make sense of death and remembrance. At its heart, the concept reassures children that while people may be gone, the love we share with them remains—rooted, growing, and alive in new ways.

The manuscript is currently being developed alongside an illustrator, with visuals evolving in close dialogue with the text. At this stage, the project is being shared selectively with publishers, and further details will be refined as the collaboration progresses, so not all aspects of the book can be revealed yet.
